Västergatan
Keeps a low profile
Västergatan is a restaurant in central Malmö that seems a bit in the shadow of its more loud and boisterous neighbors. But there’s no need to try and stand out. Here, they have a quiet confidence in their craft — serving good, personal, and well-prepared food based on the availability of ingredients. When we ask what’s happened since the last update, the answer is “nothing special,” — which perfectly reflects the down-to-earth attitude of the team at Västergatan. Fortunately, we already know what goes on behind the scenes. We understand the passion for the ingredients, the knowledge of the drinks menu, and the respect for both employees and guests.
Summary:
• Neighborhood restaurant that doesn’t make much of a fuss
• Wild-caught, MSC-labeled fish make up most of the seafood menu
• Local meat from southern Sweden
• Ingredient purchases are planned according to how many guests are booked for that evening to reduce food waste
