Commitment in a couldn’t care less-costume
Johan Montan Ahlgren och Öner Kulbay’s restaurant may be small, but it has a big heart and a great playlist. There is also room for a bakery and an intriguing wine list. It’s no wonder Bar Montan has become a hotspot in the new, culinary district that’s emerging in Stockholm’s old slaughterhouse area. The ambience is laidback in that trendy “couldn’t care less”-way, which means that they do in fact care a great deal about organic produce, animal welfare and preservation techniques, but not so much about hiding cables or making the tableware match.
