It’s impossible to visit The Whitebrook without thinking of the legendary Michel Bras and his pastoral, wild, exploratory gastronomy. Chef Chris Harrod is, like Bras, a seeker and an ambassador of the local gastronomy. This is the very foundation of The Whitebrook, which is nestled in the greenery of a small winding country road in the Wye Valley. The main focus is on plant-based dishes, but you’ll also find meat and fish on the tasting menu. This is cooking without shortcuts and cheats; the dishes are both beautiful to the eye and clear in concept and taste. Chris Harrod seems to put his heart and soul into his cooking; for which you, as a guest, are eternally grateful.
