Saltine prides themselves on being a modern neighbourhood restaurant, where the word “modern” alludes to an interior flirting with contemporary Scandinavian aesthetics and a local, seasonal and organic approach to buying produce. The menu is fuss-free and reliable, with many modern-day favourites such as olives, marcona almonds and risotto. The nose-to-tail philosophy is displayed through several of the dishes; ingredients like heart and head will appear alongside “safer” options, like smoked mackerel and roast chicken.
