Geralds Bar

Gastronomy points 2025
Timeworn, yet alive
Among the many bars in San Sebastián, this one stands apart. There is an international feel, and, not surprisingly, we learn that there is an older sibling in Melbourne, founded by Brit Gerald Diffey. Clad in teak, the space evokes the 1960s, with shelves of wine bottles hinting more at a wine bar than a pintxo spot. The menu leans on local ingredients from nearby producers and friends — dishes that strike a balance between bright freshness and rustic indulgence. Jazz on vinyl completes the atmosphere. And, as always, we recommend the bar.
