Gotthards Krog

Like so many other ambitious restaurants, Gotthards engages with their local farmers and growers. This is arguably not as easy up in Norrland as it is in the more southern parts of Sweden, but game, mushroom and berries are frequently on the menu. If something can’t be sourced locally, they choose organic options from other parts of Sweden and Europe. Even the beverage menu feels anchored in Västerbotten’s topsoil. Taste one of  many local ciders on the menu: from Bute cider, Ciderbonden or Brännland Cider, or perhaps one of the local beers, by producers such as Beer Studio, Bryggverket or Westerbottens bryggeri. Gotthards is located in an old cultural building in the center of Umeå, which is a part of Stora Hotellet, meaning the clientele greatly varies. Most importantly, they maintain a steady green course in the food and beverages they serve.
